Josielyn Valbuena has been teaching science for 17 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specialized in OB-GYN in Manila, Philippines. After working in a hospital setting for 3 years she transitioned to a career in education. Her passion is working with youth and ensuring that they excel in as well as outside of the classroom. She facilitates learning science in ways that are both fun and educational because each class engages our scholars through hands-on, interactive, and literacy-based lessons. As a life-long learner her professional development is on-going and she is currently training with the Urban Advantage Science Program to bring the latest and greatest in science education to the students of Bedford Stuyvesant. This is her second year of teaching science at BSNBCS.
