Vanessa M. Vincent graduated from Florida International University in 2003 with a degree in English Literature. She started her teaching career at North Miami Senior High School as an Intensive Reading teacher. She then became an Itinerant teacher at Highways 2 Success, a special program for students who were labeled at risk. In 2010, she returned to North Miami Senior High as an English teacher. She graduated from Concordia University with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with dual concentration in Special Education and English Speakers of Other Languages. She became the English Department Chair at North Miami Senior High from 2015 to 2016. In the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, she joined the teaching staff on an Native American reservation and taught varying grade levels, as well as students with special needs. She’s recently moved to New York and currently, teaches English at Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter School.
